By becoming a member, you’ll stay updated on reproductive rights movements and advocacy happening in Southern Alberta, across Alberta, and federally.

If you’re able, donations are always appreciated. Every dollar helps support access to abortion care, birth control, accurate information, emotional support, and financial assistance for people in Southern Alberta.

Dr. Jennifer Gordon (she/her) is a registered clinical psychologist, associate professor of psychology at the University of Regina, and director of the Reproductive Mental Health Research Unit. She holds a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Canada Research Chair in Reproductive Mental Health.

Dr. Gordon’s work is dedicated to improving the identification, prevention, and treatment of conditions that disproportionately affect women and people assigned female at birth, including premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). Dr. Gordon serves as Clinical Advisory Chair of the International Association for Premenstrual Disorders (IAPMD), a global nonprofit advancing education, research, and advocacy for people living with PMDD and related conditions.

Queer Movement Town Hall

Across the country, trans communities are showing up, sharing their stories, and building connections in the face of growing hostility and misinformation.

We're excited to help spread the word about the Trans Canada Tour, a cross-country initiative creating space for conversation, education, and community. The tour brings together trans people, allies, advocates, and curious community members for honest dialogue about gender diversity, belonging, and human rights.

Visibility matters. Community matters. Showing up for each other matters.

Pro-Choice YQL's education values encompass a commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and empowering learning environment.

At its core, Pro-Choice YQL believes in individuals' fundamental right to autonomy over their bodies and lives. This principle extends to education, where the organization firmly advocates for a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to sexual and reproductive health education. Pro-Choice YQL recognizes that all people should have access to accurate information about contraception, safe sex practices, consent, and the full range of available reproductive options.

We emphasize the importance of teaching critical thinking skills, encouraging everyone to question societal norms and engage in informed discussions on topics such as gender, sexuality, and reproductive rights. By prioritizing open dialogue and providing resources that support inclusivity and respect, Pro-Choice YQL aims to empower people to make informed decisions about their bodies, relationships, and futures.

Workshops Offered

Pro-Choice YQL offers sexual health, safer sex and reproductive health care workshops for groups, organizations, classes and agencies large and small. We follow educational best practices in our approach to safer sex and reproductive health care discourse.

Our workshops are custom built depending on audience, organizational need and time. All workshops contain:

  • Information on medical abortion health care

  • Information on how to access medical and surgical abortion health in Alberta

  • Safer Sex Education

  • Sexual health care myth-busting

  • Reproductive health care access in Canada

  • How pelvic floor issues can be connected to trauma, chronic pain, and sexual health

  • What to expect from a pelvic floor physio appointment
